EF English First teachers have a very good lifestyle in Indonesia with an employment package that includes:
A monthly salary paid in local currency and equivalent to that of a local, highly paid Indonesian manager
Flights to and from the employment destination for all candidates completing a 12-month contract
A room in shared accommodation
Legal working papers, and relevant ID cards as required
Health insurance
Housing
Your position comes with a room in a fully-furnished house. Utility bills and taxes are included, although teachers pay for telephone use.
There are 5 houses ranging from 9 to 3 people. You get a private bedroom with A/C. The kitchen, living room and bathrooms are shared. The one drawback is that the showers only have cold water, but if it is 32 degrees C or 90 degrees F outside, a hot shower is not what you are looking for.
Some teachers who have been here for a while decide to get their own place. We’ll help you look and also pay a generous housing allowance on top of your salary towards your rent.
Work Permit
All EF English First teachers have correct working papers, and relevant ID cards as required. Everything is done for you at no cost. The school bears the entire financial burden of the process.
Health Insurance
All EF English First teachers are covered with basic health insurance that covers to the Indonesian standard of health care.
We strongly recommend all teachers purchase a travel health insurance policy before leaving their home country that will cover them for the duration of their stay in any developing country. This will insure you are cared for in the way and to the standard you are accustomed should you need medical services. We recommend International Medical Group as an insurance provider.
